Your Word Is A Lamp
Welcome 2023
Happy New Year! Most often, when I get to the end of the year, I am ready for a new beginning. Leaving the problems of the previous year behind can feel like breaking free. 2022 came with its issue, like every year, but this year I felt like my relationship with God flourished like no other.
This past year, a group of wonderful people joined me in reading the Bible in a year. I had read the Bible twice before, but it took seven years for the first time and three years for the second. Honestly, I began this journey wondering if this would be the same as all the other attempts.
We Did It!
Others read earnestly along with me and we finished the Bible in one year. It felt good to finish a goal I had set, but more than that, what I learned along the way was more than I could have imagined.
Reading with the anticipation of teaching what I read made me focus more, pray more, and learn from others. This concluded with nearly 200 teaching videos, a new look at my Savior, and a journey to offer all of you.
Most of all, I grew closer to those on the journey with me. We prayed together; laughed together and shared things that were hard. We faced the confusing parts of the Bible together and did not always come out with the same understanding, but each of us grew closer to God. I did not want this experience to end.
The Bible In A Year
God kept pressing me to make this opportunity available for more people. I have taken all fifty-two blog posts, over 150 of the videos, added them with tips and tools and put them into a year long (or self-paced) study.
A Study Of The End Times
God did not let me just stop there. He never does. He encouraged me to move on to another study I would like you to join me in and that is a study of the End Times. Many people often get a sense of fear and dread when they think of what is coming. In this study, we will look at the book of Revelation, plus the other apocalyptic books, and see what the Bible says we should expect.
Most of all, I want us to look at the future with peace. When the world feels chaotic, or even our personal lives, how can we find the peace of Christ in everything?
Guided Prayer
Did God allow me to stop there? No. He has also challenged me to put together something I love to do, but it takes the help of another. Guided prayer. Guided prayer helps if you have someone reading the scripture to you. I have put together guided prayers you can use to help bring you into His presence, hear His voice, and grow in your faith.
Coffee Breaks
And then He added one more thing… Coffee breaks, Moments of Encouragement. This will comprise testimonies, stories of God moving, and encouragement from the scriptures.
Online Community
All of this is available to you in our new online community. You can access just the Bible in a year here, or all of it here. As my experience from last year goes to show, this works best when we do it together. I would love for each of you to join me in this next year and see just how much more we can grow in our faith and use that to go and make disciples of all nations.
You’ve been so busy in your ministry this year, Jen. I’m amazed at the ground you have covered and inspired by the lives you have touched. Thank you for being a light for Jesus. I pray your 2023 is healthy, happy, and blessed.
Wow. Our God is so amazing at how He accomplish so much through us when we listen. Praying for all you do this year.
You’ve been busy for the kingdom! And surely there is no better way to prompt personal spiritual growth. Thanks so much for sharing how God has led through the year.
What a year! God has certainly used you in a mighty way despite the trial you’re enduring. Our weakness often turns out to be good fodder for the glory of God. Blessings on your new endeavors.
Thank you Annie. Yes He does. Our weaknesses keep us more focused on Him.
